Silver Cinema Journal

Write for us

Silver Cinema Journal welcomes considered contributions about the places, objects and customs of cinema-going. Send proposals through the Contact page; a concise pitch is more useful than an unsolicited full manuscript.

What fits

We are interested in focused work on theatre spaces, cinema ephemera, audience rituals, exhibition details and the history of projection as part of a visit to the cinema. A strong contribution starts with a distinct question and shows why that detail offers readers a useful way to understand cinema-going.

What to include

Give us a working title, the central question, the intended scope and a brief account of the material you would use. Flag uncertain claims and explain how the piece will distinguish documented history from interpretation. Keep the proposed article distinct from subjects already covered.

Before sending

Proposals are sent through the Contact page. Include your name and a way to reply in the form, and select the editorial question option. Do not include confidential material or claim access to sources you cannot substantiate.
